Krakatau Volcano - the last time Krakatau erupted as in 1883 and it was one of the most catastrophic, natural disasters in the recorded history of the world. The volcano destroyed itself when it blew and it literally disappeared. However when Krakatau blew apart it created numerous small islands in its wake. One of the islands, Anak Krakatau - Krakatau's Child' - is what remains of the volcano and it is considered a young volcano that is active. Visitors can take a boat to the young volcano and depending on the activity of the volcano can climb and walk the rim of caldera.
Komodo Island - Known for its Komodo Dragons, the island of Komodo is known as the Jurassic Park of the country. This small 280 square kilometer island is also the home to the giant monitor lizard. There is a 59,000 hectare park on the island that visitors can enjoy with the aid of a park ranger. A special caged area is available for guests to be able to see the lizards and take photos of them as they go about their daily business.
