Pantheon another well known site that is immediately reminiscent of ancient times, the Pantheon was a temple to the Gods that was built by Hadrian in 120 AD.
Sistine Chapel and Vatican Museums the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel was painstakingly painted by Michelangelo and many other artists such as Botticelli and Roselli added their talents to the outer walls of the chapel. The original Last Supper is also featured here and some of the greatest collections of art, including pieces by Raphael, are found in the Vatican Museums which stretch over four kilometers.
The City of Pompeii the city of Pompeii was destroyed when Mount Vesuvius erupted and buried the city beneath volcanic lava and ash. The city is slowly being excavated and the guided tour takes around five hours to complete.
