I Love New York
The state of New York is one of contrasts going from the hustle bustle of the city to the quiet solitude of up state. Having a New York timeshare is one way of being able to tour everything the state has to offer. From horseback riding to touring the Empire State Building, you too will love New York. New York timeshares can be found in Niagara Falls at the border of Canada, Buffalo, the city, upstate New York around the Hudson Valley and as far west as the Pennsylvania and Ohio border. No matter what you want to see in the state, there is a New York timeshare available for you to enjoy.
New York was settled by the Iroquois Confederacy, a nation of six Native American tribes that occupied the area a good 500 years before the area was settled by Europeans. The Indians kept the area between Seneca and Cayuga Lakes - two of the state's Finger Lakes - maintained as grassland prairie for wild game including bison herds. Additionally, they were masters at growing corn, vegetables, and orchards. They were some of the first cultures to use crop rotation to keep their fields from being worn out from over planting. They were also adept at growing hogs and cows as well as fishing the rivers and lakes in the area that were abundant with fish.
The first European explorer to visit the area known as New York City was Giovanni da Verrazano. The Verrazano Narrows and bridge outside the city was named for him. In 1633 the Duke of York purchased Long Island as well as other islands along the New England coast. The province known as New Amsterdam was conquered by the Duke of York and from that time on the area was known as the Province of New York.
New York State boomed as the centuries moved forward and the city grew to what it is today. New York City, the most well known city in New York is made up of five boroughs and it is the cultural center of the state. Many people live and work in the city and it is the home of attractions such as the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the Empire State Building, Times Square, Radio City Music Hall, and Ground Zero, the former site of the twin World Trade Center Towers.
Having a New York timeshare affords you a great base of operations for seeing the whole state. If you want to visit the Hudson Valley area and natural parks such as Bear Mountain Park, try to do so in the fall. The colors of the leaves are simply amazing.
