Wonderful Wales
Wales, located on the western coast of the United Kingdom, is a country filled with mountains and castles, beaches and an industrial heritage that the people are proud of. It is known for its narrow gauge railways, meadows of brightly colored tulips and coastal resorts that attract visitors by the thousands every year. A Wales timeshare offers you the opportunity to really see this country as it is, filled with history and Norman influence that still resonates through the land.
Cardiff is the capital of Wales and it is here that much of the country's tourism center resides. The city is split in two parts with the original city center and the more modern area of Cardiff Bay. The city center is the historical part of the city and even though much of it was rebuilt in the 19th century, there is still a major part of it that dates back to the Middle Ages. The National Museum and Gallery is filled with examples of Welsh life in the numerous archaeological artifacts housed there, arts and crafts and paintings. Cardiff Bay offers visitors boat trips and the Techniquest Science Discovery Center, a great attraction for kids of all ages.
Swansea, which is located near Gower Peninsula, is the home of Dylan Thomas, the famous Welsh playwright. There is a walking trail through the city that highlights the playwright's life and leads you through the city and its many sites. There is also an Egypt Center Museum in Swansea and it is filled with beautiful examples of Ancient Egyptian art. Swansea is very much a resort town, but there is quite a bit here that appeals to visitors.
